First Lady Ann Marie Davis Visits Windsor for International Day of the Girl Child

Windsor School was deeply honored to host First Lady Ann Marie Davis of the Office of The Spouse of the Prime Minister at the Upper School campus on October 11, 2025, to mark the International Day of the Girl Child, as designated by the United Nations.

The student-led event, organized by Windsor’s Girls’ Empowerment Club under the guidance of School Counselor Cherishe Hollingsworth and Martinique Brown, focused on empowerment and the capacity for girls to be changemakers in today’s complicated world. This year’s theme, “The Girl I Am, The Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontlines of Crisis,” highlighted the power and potential of girls to lead meaningful change.

“One day you will rise and change the world, beginning with The Bahamas,” Mrs. Davis told Windsor students.

Windsor thanks Mrs. Davis for her inspiring visit and embraces this day as a reminder of our commitment to bettering the lives of girls and women through education — and to equipping our amazing female students with the skills they need to move purposefully and passionately into the world.
