Windsor Awarded CIS Accreditation

Windsor School is proud to announce that it has been awarded accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS) in recognition of excellence in key areas of school life, including rigor and quality of curriculum, strength of community, commitment to student welfare, and strategic leadership.

This accreditation affirms what we already know to be true: that Windsor is a school where students thrive, where excellent teaching and learning occurs, and where all community members are led to be passionate global citizens.

“Windsor is a school to be proud of,” the independent CIS accreditation team wrote in its final report.

CIS International Accreditation is a rigorous, multi-year evaluative process that measures a school’s alignment with leading international standards. CIS-accredited schools are globally recognized and respected as institutions committed to high-quality international education.

This accreditation is recognized by ministries, departments of education, and universities worldwide, and students educated at CIS-accredited schools are sought after by colleges and universities due to the strength of their education.

The power of this accreditation goes beyond a one-time evaluative process – it is a commitment from Windsor to continual growth and improvement. Working in tandem with CIS accreditors, Windsor faculty and leadership have identified areas for focus and development within the school. Moving forward, CIS will continue to function as an accountability partner for short-term goals as well as longer-term projects that Windsor plans to undertake. Windsor will also go through a re-accreditation process every five years, ensuring that our drive for improvement and excellence is constant.

Many Windsor community members contributed significant time and work to the accreditation process, from classroom teachers to members of the Board of Governors to students and families.

We are sincerely grateful to all who worked on the self-evaluative process and contributed to the success of the CIS accreditors’ on-site visit in March.
