Busuu-supported Delétraz scores podium at 2020 F2 opener

Swiss racing driver Louis Delétraz, supported by the language learning platform Busuu, scored a podium finish during the 2020 FIA Formula 2 Championship’s season opener in Spielberg, Austria.

After taking a points finish during the Feature Race for his Charouz Racing System team, the Haas Formula 1 test and reserve driver took second-place during Sunday’s Sprint Race to launch himself into the top five of the drivers’ championship.

Having partnered at the beginning of the 2019 season, where he scored three podiums, Busuu will continue to support Delétraz in his racing endeavours this year as the son of former F1 driver and double 24 Hours of Le Mans class winner Jean-Denis looks to mount a title challenge in the F1 feeder series.

Busuu helps more than 100 million people worldwide accelerate their language learning by combining social interaction and smart learning. Available on desktop and mobile (Android and iOS), Busuu provides the best way to learn a language.

Formula 2 is the main feeder series for the Formula 1 World Championship and was watched by around 20.3 million viewers in over 160 territories in 2019, with this international reach making it an ideal platform for Busuu.

Delétraz’s season continues with a second event at the Red Bull Ring this weekend (10-12 July).

Harold Primat, Busuu Investor & Board Member and former sportscar driver, said: “Louis is a tremendous talent and a good friend. Busuu and myself are very proud to help him try to achieve his F1 dreams.”

Louis Delétraz, Charouz Racing System Formula 2 driver, said: “I’m super proud to represent Busuu again this year. We started off very well with a podium at the first race in Austria and intend to achieve even more. I really enjoy the collaboration with Busuu and it’s great to have their support. I can’t wait for what the future holds.”

Bernhard Niesner, Co-Founder and CEO, Busuu, said: “We’re excited to continue our support for Louis as he continues to go from strength to strength, and wish him all the best for the season ahead.”
